 Panther G with Side Skirts



These Panthers were painted a few years ago. They represent an earlier stage in my painting method.

The models are GHQ. The media is oils.

If you look closely you can see where I inscribed a zimmerit pattern on the tank model, hull and turret sides.

  1. Was the 'zimmerit' scratches on bare metal before painting? Seems like something that would be tricky in 15mm, let alone micro armour.

  2. I used the tip of an Exacto knife blade to inscribe the zimmerit pattern into the unpainted metal. Its easy, but you need to keep the blade tip away from the details that aren't covered with zimmerit.
