 Early MERDC Efforts

These are photos of my first efforts at painting the US MERDC camouflage scheme. This is the Winter Verdant color pattern that was used in Germany. Even though it was called winter verdant the scheme was used all year round, without seasonal changes (at least in my unit). My mechanized infantry battalion was painted in this scheme in the spring of 1976. Before that the vehicles were in olive drab.

These four M113s and two M60A1s are GHQ models. They were painted in 2013. I was very satisfied with the results overall, but later decided the field drab color was a bit  too red.
